SHORT EXCURSIONS SUITABLE FOR FAMILIES NEAR SAN MARTINO DI CASTROZZA

An unforgettable experience is a visit to the extraordinary Paneveggio Nature Park, with its large lake, and the fascinating Pale di San Martino, with pleasant and relaxing excursions through unspoilt nature and guided nature trails. In addition to the Ethnographic Trail, at the Paneveggio Visitor Centre you can learn about the mountain aquatic habitats of the Welsperg lake, near theVilla of the same name. You can learn all about the forest animals and the spruce forest, known as the Violin Forest, the geology of the Dolomites and the high mountain areas.
Walking along the themed trails through the Swiss stone pine and larch forests you will enjoy wonderful views of Paneveggio closely explore the protected area. Walking along flat forest roads and mule tracks dating back to the First World War, you will be able to see animal tracks, discovering how roe deer, marmots, hares, foxes, badgers and wood grouse live and move, even the chamois and golden eagles that reign undisputed at the highest altitudes.

EXCURSIONS TO THE LAKES NEAR SAN MARTINO DI CASTROZZA

For those who love lake landscapes, there are excursions to some of the most beautiful lakes in the area: for example, Lake Calaita, which can be reached from San Martino di Castrozza through the Tegnazza forest. For those who love trekking, a climb up the slopes of Monte Scanaiol will bring you to the Giarine and Pisorno lakes.
Lake Manna, on the other hand, is located on the Pale di San Martino plateau, while near Passo Rolle, you can enjoy a view of the splendid Colbricon lakes.

SAN MARTINO DI CASTROZZA: MOTORCYCLE EXCURSIONS

San Martino di Castrozza is located along one of the most beautiful panoramic roads through the Dolomites, ideal for motorbike tours. The majestic peaks of the Pale di San Martino form the backdrop to a paved stretch of road that winds towards Passo Rolle, skirting lush fir forests that gradually give way to rocks as you reach higher altitudes.
The stretch of road that leads from Passo Rolle to Bellamonte and Val di Fiemme, passing through Paneveggio, is also very beautiful.
